Miss Brooke’s Story: A Black Diamond Shining with Grace and Purpose

Brilliant, rare, and unbreakable—three words that beautifully describe Miss Brooke Reece Herod, whose light reflects compassion, determination, and faith. A senior at Allen High School, Miss Brooke exemplifies academic focus and heartfelt service while maintaining a 3.0 GPA. She is the beloved daughter of Keith and Tomeka Herod and the granddaughter of Arnold and Jackie Abney and Carl Herod on her paternal side, and Tom (dearly departed) and Faye Wilkins and Ronald and Dorothy Moses on her maternal side. Miss Brooke shares a close bond with her brother, Nicholas Herod, who continues to motivate her to live with courage and curiosity.

Miss Brooke has been active in the Northeast Dallas Chapter of Jack and Jill of America for the past 11 years where she currently serves as Foundation Chair and has previously served as Historian and Hospitality Chair. Balancing athletics, academics, leadership roles and community service, Miss Brooke also is an entrepreneur who started her own master hair braiding business called Blessed by Miss Brooke! Plus, she also works as a scent master at Rocky Creek Candle Company.

A faithful member of One Community Church – Plano Campus, Miss Brooke attributes all of her success through God’s grace which also equips her with kindness, diligence and a radiant smile to inspire those around her.

After graduation, Miss Brooke plans to attend the University of Houston where she will major in Nursing or Forensic Science. With aspirations of becoming a fertility concierge nurse or forensic scientist, Miss Brooke envisions a future where her compassion meets her curiosity—helping families on their parenthood journey or uncovering truth through scientific discovery.

When reflecting on what it means to be a Black Diamond, Miss Brooke shares:

“My brilliance shines not only through achievements, but through compassion, grace, and faith. My rarity lies in how I lead with love, uplift others, and walk proudly in my purpose as a servant leader. My unbreakable spirit reflects the strength of generations of women who came before me—women who taught me to bloom with grace, no matter where life plants me.”
